spacer Keep your data secure

To limit the potential for fraud, it is vital that you keep your personal security data secret. Do not give these details to anyone and do not write them down or store them in an easily found place on your computer.

Always access Internet Banking by typing Nationwide International's address into your web browser. Never go to a website from a link in an email and enter your personal details.

The following provides more information about keeping your personal security data safe.

Keeping your data secure

Ensuring you change your sign-on data frequently can help to keep your details more secure. You can do this by signing onto the Internet Banking service and clicking on the preferences tab. Do not save your customer number as a cookie on a PC that is not your own personal computer. Be sure to sign off from the Internet Banking service - wherever you are using it. You should not let anyone see your sign-on data or write them down anywhere.

Using public PCs such as Internet Cafes

PCs in public places such as Internet Cafes may harbour viruses or other means to trap your keystrokes. Thus there is a risk that your passnumber and confidential information could be compromised and used for malicious purposes. When using Internet Cafes, there are a few things you should be aware of:

• Ensure that no one is looking over your shoulder

• Only use PCs located in reputable establishments

If you are in any doubt that someone has seen your sign on data, please telephone us on + 44 (0) 1624 696000 between 8.00am - 5.00pm (UK time) during working days.

E-mails from Nationwide International

If you do receive an e-mail that seems to have been sent from Nationwide International asking for your personal banking details, passnumbers, passwords, or you are suspicious in any way, please delete it immediately. Do not call any telephone number or action any request in the e-mail.

If you suspect you may have revealed your details, you should call us immediately on + 44 (0) 1624 696000 between 8.00am - 5.00pm (UK time) during working days and advise us of what has happened. You should also change your sign on details to something only you know.
