Why is proof of identity so important?

Nationwide International is licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission (FSC), the Isle of Man's financial services regulatory body. Two key functions of the FSC are to protect depositors and investors by regulating the activities of licensed institutions and to ensure that the Isle of Man plays its role in the global fight to combat crime.

To do this, the Isle of Man, as a leading international financial centre, has Anti Money Laundering legislation which requires licence holders to verify the identity of all account holders and the source of their funds/wealth before an account can become fully operational.
