THESE DETAILS REFER TO US
DOLLAR ACCOUNTS ONLY
Paying money into a US dollar account
by US dollar cheque drawn on a non-US bank or any other currency cheque
or draft drawn on a non-UK bank
- Cheques or drafts should be made payable to the account holder(s)
or Nationwide International Ltd. Please note we are unable to accept
cheques made payable to a third party and for security reasons, we're
unable to accept travellers cheques or cash by post
- When sending a cheque or draft please always quote your name and
account number
- The minimum amount accepted for this type of payment is the currency
equivalent of US$750. Any cheques for less than this amount will
be returned to you
- When a cheque is drawn on a non-UK bank, regardless of the currency,
it is sent for clearance through our bankers on a collection basis.
This means your account will only be credited with the US dollar
proceeds once Nationwide International has received value for the
cheque. This process can take up to eight weeks and is subject to
charges. These charges are levied by our bankers and by the correspondent
/ agent banks which have been involved in the process. These charges
are variable and regrettably we are unable to provide an exact breakdown
prior to the cheque being deposited
- Cheques drawn on a non-UK bank made payable to the account holder(s) i.e. you the payee(s), must be endorsed on the reverse side of the cheque. To endorse a cheque the payee(s) should sign the back of the cheque in exactly the same way as their name(s) have been entered in the payee section of the cheque
- To minimise clearance delays we strongly recommend
that when remitting funds from a non-UK bank you arrange for them
to be transferred by electronic transfer
